Microblading is OUT, Nano Brows are IN!

Over the past few years, artists have been moving away from techniques such as microblading and performing and a much better technique called Nano brows to create natural hair strokes. I'm sure you are probably wondering, “ what is the difference?” Microblading is done by cutting the skin with a small tool which over time causes far more trauma on the skin. Some clients are even experiencing scarring from getting this service done multiple times. Nano brows differ by using a needle and tattoo machine to create a pixelated hair stroke. Because a needle moves up and down into the skin, versus slicing, this makes Nano cause less trauma. Nano brows fade more gracefully out of the skin, where Microblading can actually blur over time and leave you with a bold solid mess. Microblading is also NOT safe to perform on mature skin, sun damaged skin, thinner skin and not best on oily skin either, leaving only 5% of the clientele able to receive it safely. On the other hand, Nano is suitable for almost all skin types! Any machine technique such as Nano brows, Powder/Ombre, or Hybrid Machine(combo) is the right choice for your brows! So let’s get to choosing what style is best for YOU!

Nano Brows

Nano brows create the look of a real hair-like stroke just like microblading. However nano brows are done with a tattoo machine (just like powder/ombré brows) so that means that clients with aged or oily skin CAN receive this service! Nano brows will age better and last longer which is what makes them a more sought out service.

Additional Information:

Often called powder brows, ombré brows, shading or micro-shading. This is a semi-permanent brow procedure. Much like a tattoo, a machine is used to create this look, so it can be as bold or as soft as you’d like. The needle doesn’t go as deep into the skin with this service, therefore the brows naturally fade over time (unlike a tattoo). You can expect them to last anywhere from 1.5-3 years. The look of powder/ombré brows is much like a natural/soft powdered make up look. This is perfect for any client who already fills in their brows every day. Unlike Microblading, this service is great for any skin type. If you are unsure if this style is for you, please book a free consultation.

When you come in for your scheduled appointment we will first take photos so that I have them for reference, then I will map out your eyebrow shape together while discussing colors, shape, size etc. This is the longest part of your appointment because I am making sure your brows are perfect for your face. After we agree on the shape, I will apply a pre numb for 15-20 minutes. Lastly, I will start creating your perfect brows! You should plan for 2-2.5 hours for the total appointment.

This service is perfect for:

  • Anyone looking for fuller or more bold brows

  • Anyone wanting to correct old PMU or Microblading. (please book a consultation first if this is you)

Additional Information:

Hybrid machine brows are a technique that uses machine only. Much like combination brows, however instead of microblading and machine work, I am using only a machine to create shading and hair strokes. This technique combines ombré/powder brows and machine nano hair strokes. Because we are using machine only, all skin types and ages are able to get hybrid brows.

The Healing Process

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE FIRST 6-8 WEEKS:

The first week is going to be gnarly. Here’s a list of thoughts

that will probably cross your mind:

  • OMG these are way too dark and way too thick

  • What have I done???

  • Why are they staring back at me?

  • I can’t go out like this.. I look crazy.

The good news is, the Intensified color and slight redness are part of the initial stages of healing and will only be from days 2-5. Don’t worry, don’t freak out.. just be patient. This is the initial shock phase and we ask that you just simply trust the process. After 7 days, the brows will fade about 20% and shrink about 10% to a much more natural look. The sensation can be comparable to that of a slight burn and minimal peeling or flaking may take place. Refrain from picking at your brows as you may run the risk of removing pigment in the process.

Healing will vary with skin type, but you may experience color fading and loss of hair strokes. This is completely normal. The touch up session where we can assess your healing and fill in any missing strokes as well as give it a color boost. We can then recommend the best follow up timeline for future appointments.
